www.kindaspecial.com is a project operated by Se Han GmbH, Urbanstrasse 71, 10967 Berlin, Germany ("we", "us", "our"). We run Curated Social Club, a members-based social events community.

We are the data controller within the meaning of Art. 4(7) GDPR.
2. What Data We Collect
We collect the following personal data:
From the sign-up questionnaire: Name, email address, city, professional background, relationship status, lifestyle interests, event format preferences, and spending habits.
Please note: our questionnaire asks for your relationship status, which may indirectly reveal information about your personal life or sexual orientation. This constitutes a special category of personal data under Art. 9 GDPR. We collect this data only on the basis of your explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR), and use it solely to curate appropriate events for you. You may skip this question or withdraw your consent at any time without consequence.
From membership and ticket purchases (via Wix Payments): Name, email address, billing address, and payment information. Payment card data is processed directly by Wix Payments and is never stored on our systems.
From newsletter sign-ups (via Mailchimp): Name and email address.
From general website use: Technical data such as browser type, device, and IP address, collected automatically via Wix's platform analytics and cookies.
Providing your data is voluntary. You are not under any statutory or contractual obligation to provide personal data when visiting this website. However, certain data (such as your name and email address) is required to process your membership or event registration. If you do not provide this data, we will not be able to offer you access to our events or membership.

Our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) consist of understanding which event formats resonate with our community in order to improve our offering. These interests are balanced against your rights and do not override them.
4. Your Right to Object
Where we process your personal data on the basis of legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you have the right to object to this processing at any time under Art. 21 GDPR.
If you object, we will stop processing your data for that purpose unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights, and freedoms, or unless the processing serves the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims.

5. Third-Party Services We Use
Wix (wix.com) — Our website is hosted on Wix Inc., 500 Terry A. François Blvd, San Francisco, CA 94158, USA. Wix also processes payment transactions via Wix Payments on our behalf. As Wix is a US-based company, your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States. This transfer is carried out on the basis of standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR). Their privacy policy is available at wix.com/about/privacy.
Mailchimp (The Rocket Science Group LLC) — We use Mailchimp to manage our newsletter and email communications. If you opt in to receive updates from us, your name and email address are transferred to and stored on Mailchimp's servers in the United States. This transfer is carried out on the basis of standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR). We do not sell your personal data to any third party.
6. International Data Transfers
Both Wix and Mailchimp are based in the United States. The EU-US Data Privacy Framework provides a basis for some transfers; where it does not apply, we rely on standard contractual clauses (SCCs) as the appropriate safeguard under Art. 46 GDPR. 7. How Long We Keep Your Data
We retain your data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy. Specifically:

8. Cookies and Tracking (TTDSG)
Our website uses cookies in accordance with § 25 TTDSG (Telekommunikation-Telemedien-Datenschutz-Gesetz) and Art. 6 GDPR. Cookies are small text files stored on your device.

Strictly necessary cookies Required for the website to function. These cannot be disabled. Examples: session management, security tokens. Storage duration: session or up to 12 months.
Analytics and performance cookies Help us understand how visitors use the site. Used only with your consent. Provider: Wix Analytics. Storage duration: up to 13 months.
Marketing and preference cookies Used to remember your preferences and, where applicable, to support our newsletter and communications tools. Provider: Mailchimp (where applicable). Storage duration: up to 24 months.

9. Your Rights Under GDPR and BDSG
As a resident of the EU/EEA, you have the following rights:

10. Newsletter and Marketing Emails
We send newsletters and event announcements via Mailchimp only to people who have actively opted in. Every email contains an unsubscribe link. You can also unsubscribe at any time by emailing hello@kindaspecial.com.
Under German law (§ 7 UWG), we require explicit prior consent before sending any marketing communications. We use a double opt-in process — you will receive a confirmation email before being added to our mailing list.
11. Automated Decision-Making and Profiling
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR. No decisions with legal or similarly significant effects are made about you by automated means. Event invitations are curated manually by our team based on questionnaire responses.
12. Children's Data
Our website and services are not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us at hello@kindaspecial.com and we will delete it promptly.
13. Data Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. Payments are processed via Wix Payments using industry-standard encryption (TLS/SSL). We do not store payment card details.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page reflects the most recent version. We will notify active members of material changes by email.
