How it all started
Kinda Special started many many years ago in our living room, where like minded people would come together. Later, Alexandra started a Salon in Berlin to a larger group of people from all walks of life.
We love hosting and connecting people - the dinners, the openings, the living rooms where the real conversation happens after the official event ends. Our skill? To make people feel comfortable, to get a group of strangers talking like old friends by the second course. That's not a skill everyone has. It happens to be ours.
So we asked a different question: what if we used it. What if, instead of keeping the good spots to ourselves, we built new ones - and filled them with people who really enjoy to be in them?
Kinda Special is a Curated Social Club - small, personally selected evenings, days and weekends for people who've traveled enough, built enough, and lived enough to want conversation with substance, not just company.
We host in Vienna for now, soon elsewhere, and we have zero interest in scale for scale's sake.
Every guest is personally interviewed before they're in - first via a quick survey and then in person - via Video Chat.
We're not here to gatekeep - we just know exactly what makes a room work.
We're honest about what happens once you're there. Real connections form - intellectual, social, sometimes more. We don't treat that as an accident. It's the whole point of hosting, right?
The format changes constantly: private dinners, gallery nights, cooking sessions, hikes, weekend retreats, listening sessions with good vinyl and low light. What never changes is the standard - because we know what a great room feels like, and we're not doing this any other way.
We're not a platform. Not an event series. We're hosts - in the oldest, best sense of the word. Which is probably why you're still reading.
See you soon!
